Stay up to date with work transforming Morley

A lot of work has been happening behind the scenes since we secured £24.3m of government investment in March for our plans to transform Morley.

The Morley Town Deal Board, Leeds City Council and local partners have been working closely together to develop our proposals further, and we should have exciting updates to share in the weeks and months ahead.

You may have already noticed the first sign of things to come popping up in Morley!

From striking new street art to the pedestrianisation of Morley Bottoms, we have been kickstarting longer term growth plans for the town with a series of smaller projects.

Informed by your responses in last year's consultation, you can read more about how we've been using the £750,000 of government funding we secured last year here .

As work continues on developing the vision for the future of Morley, there are a number of ways you can stay informed and share your views.

Check out our new Morley Town Investment Plan webpage here , detailing how each of our seven projects will transform the area and help deliver on local priorities.

Additionally, we have launched a new Commonplace page for involving local people in developing our projects and telling you about opportunities to get involved.

For the latest information on our proposals and how to have your say, sign-up for regular updates on the page's news section here .

A zipwire for Morley!

This week the children of Churwell Primary worked in groups to discuss their ideas about ways in which Morley could be improved. The school has sent a summary of the most popular ideas to the organiser of the Morley Towns Deal.

You can see all their suggestions here https://twitter.com/ChurwellPrimary/status/1319618277648248833 but our favourites are a zipwire, more toy shops and playgrounds, crazy golf, an animal park and a water park. Some absolutely brilliant ideas! Inspired thinking from some of the younger residents of Morley.

As ever, we'd be very grateful if you could share this news update and encourage your friends to get involved on Commonplace too.

Thanks!
